"This is Ziggy Gizmo, my Red Sided Eclectus. He is a chimera, which means that he has both male and female reproductive organs. This is why he has the red and violet colors on his breast instead of all green like normal males. Ziggy also has a black streak down the middle of his upper mandible, which not normally there for a male. A male usually has a "candy-corn" upper mandible. Females have a black upper mandible. Ziggy has both!
