The modified medium size was first made for a very large male Congo African Grey who weighs over 560 gm. So was the wide panel set that covers the front open edges to minimize damages to the zipper for this very active bird. Some customers may even opt for the ML size which is 4" taller for the large size bird. Make sure you park the zipper all the way to the top; the bird is not likely to arch backward and chew. Please also hang toys inside to keep the bird busy if you are not able to attend to the bird such as during a long drive.
