Yes You Can!

Pets can travel in two ways: unaccompanied or in the cabin with you. Here we will mainly focus on pets traveling in the passenger cabin as a carry-on. The general requirements or rules include:

  • A health certificate - In most cases, health certificates are issued by a licensed veterinarian who examines the animal within a certain number of days before transport (airline specifics - see below)
  • Age - Dogs and cats must be at least 8 weeks old and have been weaned before traveling by air
  • Pet size - Carry-on pets should be small enough to fit comfortably in a kennel (or carrier) to be placed under the seat
  • In captivity - Animals are never allowed out of the kennel (or carrier) during flights
  • Advance reservation - Advance reservation is required
  • Refusal - All airlines reserve the right to refuse an animal for reasons such as not meeting IATA regulations; illness; poor kenneling, or extreme temperatures at origin, transfer, or destination airports.

Celltei® pet carriers are designed with the specific goal of conforming to airlines' requirements. In fact, we even offer more functional features than are required. For full explanation, see "Is Celltei carrier airline approved?"

Each airlines has its own requirements and rules, some allow bird and some don't. Please check with the airlines you plan to travel with first.
